We're a small town that's big on culture!
Where else can you listen to the North Carolina Symphony on a historic town common? Ever attended an affordable theater performance with no issues getting seats? How often are art museums found in the home of a Revolutionary War officer? Tarboro offers all of this to its residents - and we'd be delighted to share it with you!

Town Events

Arts are celebrated year-round in Tarboro! Come in May for the Happening on the Common, a well-loved arts festival featuring everything from paintings and photography to Christmas ornaments, scented candles, and leatherwork. Stick around to learn from skilled gardeners from across the region at the Blount-Bridgers Garden Symposium. In June, The North Carolina Symphony performs under the stars on our beautiful town common. The Downtown Live concert series runs all summer long, bringing entertainment to the center of Tarboro. Join us in November for the Brewgrass Celebration; nothing beats sipping craft beer to the sound of bluegrass! Finally, the North Carolina Symphony returns in December for a Christmas Concert to finish the year up right!
